Durham BID's primary objectives have and always will be to increase city centre footfall, dwell time and spend. Please find information below about Durham BID's Marketing Strategy.
Due to exceptional demand, we have launched the ‘Make it Durham’ campaign. This new campaign will now lead across BID’s social media.
The campaign has been broken down into key messaging pillars:
Taste Durham – to support the hospitality sector.
Socialise Durham – to support the nighttime economy
Stay Durham – to support inbound tourism, mid-week and weekend stays in the city
Shop Durham – to support national and independent retailers in the city.
Experience Durham – to promote events, attractions, and culture.
Celebrate Durham – to highlight success stories and community pride.
We want all businesses to get involved with the campaign – and we are also working with key partners such as Durham County Council, the City of Durham Parish Council and Visit County Durham to drive awareness.

The key marketing pillars of the campaign will be broken down into social media posts across BID’s platforms. The posts will work as a mix of round-ups, video reels, news posts, success stories, graphics and promotions.
Here is how businesses can get involved:
