People’s Bookshop Durham

About People’s Bookshop Durham

People’s Bookshop opened 13 years ago in an attic in Saddler St. It soon became a much-loved part of the social and cultural life of Durham, a DIY collective where young and old came together, to teach and inform one another – a thriving non-sectarian space to talk, organise and create.

Now based in Prince Bishops Place, People’s Bookshop offers affordable used books as well as new publications.

“As the only radical bookshop in the North East we have a regional appeal with our local history and labour history collections. Our new shop in Prince Bishops Centre will enable us to expand our range to include all academic and leisure subjects as well as fiction and children’s books.”
