New super-festival celebrating music, theatre and visual arts launches across Durham for the summer

Did you hear? For the first time this summer, a number of organisations have come together to celebrate Durham City’s art scene, in a collaborative new festival, which debuted across the City on Friday 1st June.
It’s called Durham City Arts Festival and sees three independent festivals featuring music, theatre and visual arts, join forces to bring to the City one super-festival throughout the course of June. If you missed the launch, don’t worry! There’s still plenty of activities, workshops and events taking place over the rest of the month, to help you engage with different types of art, while making the concept of creativity more accessible for people of all ages and with different tastes to enjoy.
The three festivals joining under the Durham City Arts Festival banner this summer are Durham Festival of the Arts, DJazz, and Art Durham.
Some elements of Durham City Arts Festival are free to attend while other performances and exhibitions may require an entry free. Either way, you’re bound to find something in Durham this summer to help get your creative juices flowing.
